The Timeless South in April

Charleston • Beaufort • Savannah
April 19–23, 2027

Some places preserve their history behind glass. Charleston and Savannah invite you to walk right through it. Beneath ancient live oaks and along streets lined with graceful homes, church steeples, hidden gardens, and inviting squares, the stories of the South remain very much alive.

Your journey begins in Charleston, where pastel homes overlook the harbor and centuries of history fill the streets. Explore the historic City Market, see celebrated landmarks such as Rainbow Row and the Battery, and visit Boone Hall Plantation, known for its striking avenue of moss-draped oaks. After dark, Charleston reveals a different personality during a haunted carriage ride filled with local legends and tales from the city’s long and colorful past.

One of the trip’s most memorable evenings awaits aboard the Spirit of Carolina. Enjoy dinner as you cruise Charleston Harbor, watching the city and waterfront unfold from the deck of an elegant yacht. It is a relaxed and beautiful way to experience one of America’s most historic coastal cities.

Between Charleston and Savannah, you’ll venture into the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Cruise the calm waters near Hunting Island with a naturalist guide while watching for dolphins, eagles, herons, and diving pelicans. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Frogmore stew lunch before continuing through the coastal landscape to Savannah.

Savannah welcomes you with shaded squares, beautiful homes, cobblestone streets, and one of the most distinctive historic districts in America. You’ll discover the ingenious city plan established in 1733, visit the magnificent Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist, and enjoy time to browse the shops and waterfront along River Street.

The experience reaches beyond Savannah to the salt marshes and barrier-island scenery of the Georgia coast. Travel past historic Fort Pulaski to Tybee Island, visit the lighthouse area, and enjoy time near the beach. Along the way, you’ll sample a freshly made praline from River Street Sweets, a Savannah favorite.

Dining is part of the experience, with included meals at Hyman’s Seafood, Vic’s on the River, and the legendary Pirates’ House. Your final evening features live entertainment at the historic Savannah Theatre, bringing this Southern journey to a fitting close.

With guided sightseeing, distinctive dining, coastal scenery, historic hotels, a wildlife cruise, and plenty of time to enjoy Charleston and Savannah, this is more than a getaway. It is your invitation to slow down, look around, and experience the beauty, stories, flavors, and hospitality of the Timeless South.
