What our guests have to say about us!

Dear Rockport,   We really enjoyed our trip to Mexico (Dec 2007).  This is the second trip for us; the first was a nightmare.  Our host was Pete and His wife (Marilyn), sorry forgot her name, they were very informative. We requested a certain seat and that was super. We want to go on a trip again soon.  We really enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts. Jessie and Pete

Dear Nick,   I just wanted to say "Thank You" for a wonderful "Christmas in the South" tour (Nov 2007).  There were times I thought the bus wouldn't fit in those narrow lanes, but you always pulled through. I enjoy listening toyou each time you ware on the microphone. You are very entertaining, and it's easy to tell that you love what you do.  Have a blessed Christmas and a wonderful 2008.  Melissa.

Dear Sugar,   We wanted to again express our sincere thanks for the wonderful adventure at Real De Catorce (Sep 2007).  Everything was just as described on the flyer and more.  Ralph and I had a wonderful time and felt safe and secure with you and Jose there to ensure we were all accounted for.  You did a great job of tour director and Jose displayed professionalism, respect, and most of all great driving skills.  We will certainly be sharing pictures & experiences with our family & friends and choose Rockport Tours again for future trips.  Some of the best things enjoyed on the trip was the scenery going up the cobblestone road, riding on the truck through the tunnel, seeing the old churches, meeting some of the passengers in our group, and the food!  Awesome!!!  Ralph & Maria

Dear John, Kay & Staff,   The way you plan the Tunica trip (August 2007) was great and so much better going straight to Sam's Town Tunica from the Paragon instead of going to the Isle of Capri.  It was less tiring for some reason, and we arrived while it was daylight at both Sam's Town and the Gold Strike Casinos.  This Tunica trip was really enjoyed so much more.   Allyn and Mary

Dear Kay & John,   I want to tell you how much my daughter enjoyed our trip to San Francisco (August 2007).  The tours were very well organized and the guides were very knowledgeable. The hotel was great and in a good location.  Once again Rockport Tours is the best, because you take the worry out of traveling and leave it to the experts.  Glenda and Natasha

Dear Kay,   Just wanted to let you know my trip to Coushatta (June 2007) was very good.  Nell was a very good hostess, too.  I just couldn't let this pass without telling you!  Alicia

Hello Rockport Tours,   Enclosed is my payment for the balloon fiesta in October. I am really anxious to go there again.  I like the name Spirit for your current motor coach, but not sure about Pearl for the new coach.  It will be nice to have names for both coaches. Can't slight the "middle child".  Thanks again for a GREAT trip to Branson (May 2007), and I know the Albuquerque trip will be as good!  Clara

Dear Rockport Tours,   Really enjoy our trip to Alaska (May 2007).  Thanks for every-thing that you did for us and the group.  I feel this was a pretty challenging cruise, all things considered.  Thanks for making our "Reunion" a great get-together. Larry and Irene

Dear Kay and John,   Reggie and I want to thank you for guiding the Bovina group's tour safely to Alaska (May 2007) and home again.  We are grateful that you got us home Saturday.  We appreciate all the extra time and care you gave to us.  Sandra and Reggie

Dear Kay and John,   Thank you both so much for getting me on the Branson trip (May 2007).  I had a great time.  Nick and Linda are the best.  They made the trip very pleasant.  to be on your coach again very soon.  Mary Jane

Rockport Tours,   Thank you for a fun trip to the Paragon Casino (April 2007).  My mother, age 82, had a great time and is ready to return.  We want to thank Nell and Nick for all their sincere help and making our trip so much fun.  What a fun pair they are. Mother and I are looking forward to our next trip with you again.  Thank you again.  See you soon.  Judy and Juanita

Dear Kay and John,   I want to thank you for a wonderful trip to Washington state and the train ride to Minneapolis (Seattle & The Rockies, April 2007). The tulip fields wee just magnificent. I don't remember seeing any more beautiful in the Netherlands. Even saw a tulip named Rosalie.  Leavenworth was so much us and the Cascade Mountains were breathtaking.  All in all the entire trip was very memorable and will inspire us many times.  I look forward to travel with the group next time.  Sally and Allison

Dear Kay and John,   Pete and I want to thank you for the neat trip to Seattle (Seattle & The Rockies, April 2007) and the train trip to Minneapolis. We really enjoyed traveling and getting to know you both.  We were delighted with the trip, the planning you both did and the high quality of bus drivers and our step on guide. The surprise lunch at Friday Harbor was memorable as well as the visit to the tulip farms and the short visit to the Queen Ann section of Seattle. Also the wine bottles made it home fine.  Thank you for keeping it for us on the train!  Sandra and Pete

Dear Kay and John,   Herman and I went with the group to see "Wicked" (March 2007)in Houston Saturday. We wanted you to know that Linda is a really great guide. She's competent and pleasant, and we would not hesitate to travel with her on any of your tours in the future. This was our first trip with her as the guide.  The play was really good and the restaurant chosen very good also. They were fast and the food was excellent. It really was a good day . . .  Carolyn and Herman.

Dear Kay and John,   Just a note to thank you for planning the enjoyable trip to the Big Bend Country (March 2007).  I have long wanted to visit there.  It certainly has a beauty and charm all its own.  I would like to commend Linda and Nick for their many acts of kindness towards myself and my fellow travelers. I especially appreciated Linda arranging for meatless meals on that Friday of Lent.  I am looking forward to the Great Lakes Loop in August!  Roberta.

Dear Kay and John,   I have just returned from your Big Bend Park tour (March 2007) which I enjoyed very much . . . I especially want to point out to you what an asset to Rockport Tours has in Linda Alexander.  Her extraordinary care and sensitivity is "her job", but I seriously doubt that personality trait can be regimented.  Please never let her get away.  Agnes.

Dear Friends,  You and your staff planned well for us to have a great Spring Break (Big Bend, March 2007). I can't imagine the phone calls and coordination, not to mention flexibility, it takes to execute such a tour.  Being a nature lover, I enjoyed every minute we were learning about plants, climate, economics of the area, dinosaur digs, Marfa lights, "Giant" filming, and even rattlesnakes.  Nick took care of the coach and its passengers with strict professionalism . . . Linda was a knowledgeable tour director you used her communication skills to hear and adjust plans to accommodate each guest . . . Each member of the professional team stressed the need for drinking water, and we quickly realized why John had provided us with cases and cases of bottled water. . . Buzz Ross was an excellent walk-on guide for that area. He know the way, the folks and the stories to make our tour real good. . . Keep up the quality service with the personal touch.   .  .  Mary Jane.

Dear Kay and John,  The tour to Big Bend (March 2007)  was fabulous and Linda and Nick couldn't have been nicer, nor more helpful.  I'm sorry about the mixup in dates, but I want to thank you for taking care of the problem.  The transportation turned out fine and I had a wonderful time.  I hope your trip to Rome turned out as well.   Lois.

Dear John,  We were initially disappointed to find out you weren't joining us on the Copper Canyon trip (March 2008) , however Sugar did a superb job. She was a delight to be with and represented Rockport Tours' Family very well.  Looking forward to our trip to Argentina and sharing in the fun with you and Kay in November. If you need any extra help, our vote is for Sugar to come along:)  Thank you for such a well planned trip, the hotels, food and all the extras were fabulous. Jose and Alfredo were wonderful!!!  Marsha and Bill.

Dear John,   We want you to know that the Copper Canyon trip (March 2008) was really great for us . . . The team you sent was really good.  Jose got us through some really tight turns on the Devil's Backbone.  Sugar is simply the most caring leader we have ever had on a trip.  She helped us beyond the call of duty.  Then there is Alfredo: a guide who gives it all and has a lot to give.  To say what is the greatest part of the trip would be difficult.  Whether the hotel at Mazatlan, or the Canyon, or dining with the family in Chihuahua . . . it's all good.  Sandy and Jerry.

Dear Sugar,   I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our recent cruise (January 2007). This was our first cruise, and we loved it. Having you handle things made it so much easier for us. You did it all so well.  We're looking forward to next year's cruise, Feb 3-10, and hope that you will be our hostess again.  And, thanks for getting the pictures. Such a nice memento of our trip.  Dona.

Dear Kay and John,   Bill and I went to Biloxi (January 2007).  What a nice trip!  We were on the leased bus, but it was very comfortable, and we especially appreciate the water and soft drinks.  Nell was fun to be with, as usual!  We also appreciated that our luggage was loaded on the bus right on time coming hoe, and we even got back to Corpus Christi a little early. Elmer was certainly a good driver.  We hope to go with Rockport again soon.  Sincerely, Jean and Bill

Hi Kay and John!   Just had a great trip to the Opry (November 2006) with Linda and Nick.  Lovely times and meals, nary a hitch, as usual, and met some lovely people!  Thanks for being you!!!  Kindest regards, Marilyn

Dear John:   I want to thank you again for all you did to make our bus trip to San Miguel (November 2006)  so WONDERFUL!  All the girls had such a good time and they are all so proud of their purchases.  You are so kind and patient with all of them and we all appreciate you so much!  Thanks again for YOU going with us and not sending another leader……you have spoiled us beyond description!   Most sincerely,  Susan.

Dear Rockport Tours:   We just wanted to say thanks for a wonderful trip to Branson (November 2006).  Nick and Linda were wonderful to be with and also took very good care of everything.  It was so great to sat back and leave everything to them.  We will look forward to going again.  Royce & Barbara.

Dear John and Kay:  Thanks to Nick and Linda for the fun trip to Lake Charles (LA Casinos, October 2007). These "2" are great.  Friendly, considerate of all and excellent in their duties.  Rockport Tours' is a great way to travel. Sit back and relax and leave the driving to Nick.  Looking forward to the next trip.  J.C. and Joyce.

Kay and John:   We have no complaints of the Connecticut trip (Connecticut Casinos, October 2007).  We had a wonderful time.  Nick did a good job.  So did Nell.  Yolanda.

Dear Rockport Tours:  We wanted you to know what an efficient and warm hostess you have in Linda (Glacier Bay Alaska, September 2006). She is right on top of all actions, looks out for each individual's needs and requests, yet stays "out of the way". She makes sure that you can enjoy your vacation and not worry about procedures.  Charlene and Bob.

Dear Rockport Tours:   Just want to say what a great time we had on the trip to Oklahoma (WinStar Casino, September 2006).  As usual Rockport Tours satisfies.  Even if I did lose all my money it was fun losing it.  Sugar was a very good hostess and tried to make sure we all had a good time.  Looking forward to another trip soon.  Mary Nell

Dear Rockport Tours:  This was our first trip (WinStar, September 2006)  with Rockport Tours.  It was fantastic!  The service excelled our expectations.  The bus was also great, our trip to and from was great, the hotel and casino were out of this world.  I would highly recommend Rockport Tours to everyone.  Nick, the driver, was very professional, willing to assist whenever needed, extremely courteous and willing to make everyone comfort-able.  He was fantastic.  Sugar was also very courteous, very professional, willing to go out of her way to see that all was taken care of. Sugar also exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Sugar as a tour director  Yolanda and Amador.

Dear John, Linda, Nick and Company:  Thank you so much for all you did to make our Yellowstone (August 2006) trip so great.  It was well planned, and you went out of your way to keep us happy. The map, clock and tote bags were unexpected treats.  We especially enjoyed the two books that were prizes for guessing the mileage. The pictures are wonderful and the information a bout the areas are science lessons.  We look forward to traveling with you again in the future.  Linda and Ed.

Dear Kay and John:  Our trip (Yellowstone, August 2006) was so wonderful. Thanks so much for taking us to all of the places-the great food, hotels, and beautiful scenery.  Thanks to Nick and Linda for all that they did.  JoAnn and Frank.

Dear John & Rockport Crew:  What a great and enjoyable time we had on your casino trip (L'Auberge & Paragon, June 2006).  We left on June 25th to Paragon, Cypress and L'Auberge.  Nell was a perfect hostess.  So organized, friendly, kept us well informed and entertained.  Bus the the driver were great, too.  We hope in the future that you have a 3-day, 2-nt stay at L'Auberge only. That hotel/casino is beautiful and with the best staff and food and grounds.  We look forward to our next trip. Give Nell our love and Happy Birthday wishes. Thanks much again,  Joyce and J.C.

Dear John:  We had a great time (Copper Canyon, February 2006) even though some of the trips were long ones.  We particularly liked the setup with the Mexican family in Chihuahua. The Jurados were great and we thank them very much for their hospitality.. Muchas gracias, Blanca y Jesus hospitalidad, mucho gusto.  I am now learning Spanish (a bit) and have come away from this trip with a whole new viewpoint of the Mexican people and their wonderful country.  Each town and city we visited displayed an immense pride and national identity that I was not aware of, and am happy to acknowledge. Good on 'em.  Best regards, Ken and Val.

Dear Kay and John:  Just want to say what a great time we had on the New Orleans (February 2006) trip and to say how much we enjoyed Linda.  She was a wonderful tour guide.  Looking forward to another trip soon.  Thanks again as usual everything was great.   Mary Nell

Dear Kay,  We had a wonderful time in the Smoky Mountains (November 2006).  It is a real pleasure to travel with Linda and Nick.  The Biltmore Estate was the unquestioned highlight - worth the whole trip.  Other great events were the Black Bear Jamboree Dinner Theater, Christus Gardens, the high mountain pass, Dollywood, restaurant in McComb, Greenery Restaurant, Biltmore restaurant and Biltmore winery.  Can't say enough good things.  Would add, however, that if anything has to be squeezed out in future years, the candidates would be the Mast General Store, Dead Luggage Graveyard, and Indian Museum.  Until next time.  Dan.

Dear Kay and John,  Thanks to Michelle and Nell for the fun trip to Marksville (November 2006) last month. Let us know when you go again. Jim

Dear Folks,  A note to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip to Branson (November 2005). The trip was well planned and Linda and Nick took very good care of us. We travel a lot and they are about the best. Lorraine & Robert.

Dear Kay and John,  Thanks for making our "Atlantic Crossing" (October 2006) so enjoyable.  Also, thanks for all the "goodies", wine, sweets and jackets.  Looking forward to another cruise in the future. Jack and Phyllis.

Dear John,  Ed and I got back from the Branson tour (November 2005) on Saturday and I just wanted to tell you that Nick and Linda did a wonderful job on the trip, and they are a true asset to your company. Several of the couples on the trip were also very well pleased with the service that was given to them by these two people. I heard some of the couples say they would go on the trip next year if these two were taking the trip.   Joetta and Ed.

Dear Kay and John,  I want you to know how much I enjoyed the Myrtle Beach & Music trip (September 2005).  It was great.  Linda and Nick did a good job!  I have missed going on trips. Hopefully next year I can go on more.   Myra.

Dear Kay and John,  Thank you so much for the champagne and chocolate delights that were in our cabin upon our arrival.  What a pleasant surprise. The Mediterranean Cruise (July 2005) was lovely and we really enjoyed the entire group!  Looking forward to seeing you soon.  Pat and Hank.

John and Kay.  We thoroughly enjoy the cruise (Mediterranean, July 2005).  I do not understand how you two do this over and over as we are so both very tired. But, have memories from a lot of places for a life time!  Haroldine and Curtis.

Dearest John and Kay,   What a wonderful trip we had to San Miguel (March 2005). Fantastic.  The hotel location was great - perfect across the street from the garden. Also, you should send Robert out as the tour guide every chance you get. he was wonderful, speaks the language and knows the area. Directed us to some great places to eat.  I've never seen anyone as attentive as Robert when Nell fell on the bus. Not only did he stay in Monterrey with her, but Fred and I saw him the next morning and were amazed that he traveled for 4 hours to just check on all of us, and was functioning on 2 hours of sleep. He was on his way back to Monterrey to be with her, another 4 hour ride and then back to Matehuala . . . another 4 hour ride on a city bus. Never seen anything like it. You are very fortunate to have him on your staff. Jose was also very good about keeping an eye on everyone in Robert's absence at Matehuala.  Looking forward to seeing both of you in the near future.  Best regards,  Fred and Barbara.

Dear John and Kay,  This is just a short e-mail to tell you that our San Miguel De Allende (March 2005) experience was a great one.  We could not have asked for a better tour director than Robert Cahill and Jose Hidalgo is a great driver.  It was too bad that Nell had her spill in the bus walkway but those things happen.  Robert and Jose rallied to the emergency and calmly and efficiently took care of the situation . . . The day trip to Dolores Hidalgo was fun.  I liked the pottery place the best.  The glass place did not turn me on.  Bob's barbecue was good and the hot springs were interesting but not really high on our list.  Maybe a meal experience could be separated from that outing to make the day bus trip less tiring.  The San Francisco Hotel was awesome.  Rooms, courtyard, bar, small restaurant were all exceptional.  The owners made themselves visible and were warm and friendly.  We did not eat in their fine dining area but we will the next time.  The stay in the beautiful hotel in Monterrey was wonderful - a great last night stop . . . Don

Dear John and Kay,   We want to let you know how much we enjoyed our recent trip to San Miguel (March 2005) with Rockport Tours.  Jose, the driver, was outstanding in his handling of the bus and the  passengers.  Robert, the guide, was a great PR person for Rockport Tours, and always remained calm under the stressful situations we faced on that particular tour. We would like to recommend on future tours only one night be spent in Matehuala enroute to San Miguel, and a four night stay be included in San Miguel. We are interested in a trip to Copper Canyon, Mexico this year.  Do you have any plans to organize a trip there before March 2006? Again, thank you for providing us a memorable trip. Carol and Burt

Dear John and Kay,   Thank you once again for an unforgettable trip (Oaxaca MX, February 2005). I could leave out the no A/C part but what's a trip without highs and lows?  The side trips to the villages and crafts people were probably the highs for me, not just to purchase but to see close-up how people have lived and worked for generations and used their experiences and imaginations to document their life. I can hardly wait to see my photos . . . Thanks again for adding such a treasure to my memory bank.  Jane

Dear Rockport Tours:   My husband and I just got back from the Mexico Holiday Cruise (December 2004) on the Ecstasy . . . and WOW!  We had the best time ever. Our tour escorts Mr. & Mrs. Heffner were absolutely hands down the best!! They answered any question we may have had and if they didn't know they sure found out for us!  John and Kay, you can bet your boots we will be recommending your tour company to Everyone! Thank you, too, for the champagne, chocolates and Just Everything! It was a vacation to remember thanks to Rockport Tours and their Fabulous Guides, the Heffners!   Vicki

Dear Kay:   Bill and I really enjoyed our trip to Biloxi (Beau Rivage Biloxi November 2004) this week.  It was fun to have Nell there....it's been a long time.  Michelle was a great driver.  Such good music she played !  Your bus is beautiful,  the bus games were fun,  and we can't  find anything but good to say about the four days.  Nell's sense of humor is as wonderful as it always was.  Hope we can go with Rockporttours again soon. Yours, Bill and Jean

Dear Kay & John:   While you're already thinking of your next jaunt, we are savoring our trip with you to Southern California (Paradise Cruise/Tour, October 2004), however, would bet it will "stand out" to you because of getting to visit your daughter.  We loved everything . . . the bus ride with scenery, apple pie, Rex Allen, Lobo, Streets of Laredo, New Mexico ambush, dune buggy riders and even the streets filled with "trick or theaters" was wonderful.  And, San Diego and our first ever cruise - much more than we expected. You two are so fun, friendly and professional!  Like the pictures on the website. I made a new e-mail pen pal-the Czech waitress I made friends with on the Paradise. Thank you so much. Happy Thanksgiving!   Millie and Rick

Hi:   Thanks to Sugar and Elmer for a great day away (Traders' Village, September 2004). They went the extra mile to insure our comfort on a hot day! I loved the sunrise and sunset at Copano Bay!  Thanks for all you do. Respectfully,    Mary Jane

Kay & John:   After 4000 miles of sightseeing throughout our beautiful country (Yellowstone, August 2004) I want to thank Nick for being so good at his job.  Because he never faltered, never looked fatigued, never lost his patience and kept our safety foremost on his mind and driving, I was able to enjoy the sights without a care.  I love traveling with Rockport tours because once you step on that bus, you don't have a care in the world, they take care of everything!!  And if Nick is driving, that's just an added plus.  Thanks, Nick!!!!   Gloria
